The Library’s Unique Collections holds many rare publications just waiting to be discovered. Amongst these is a volume on English Medieval wall painting…
In addition to our archive material and theses, the MRC is home to the Library’s Unique Collections. These collections are a treasure trove to unusual and beautiful books that cover a variety of topics, ranging from Art History to Law. With over 15,000 rare publications, there is an abundance of material to discover.
For today’s blog post, I have selected English medieval wall painting: the thirteenth century.

This book contains a collection of visually stunning prints. These images of Medieval murals provide an insight into both the style and the importance of mural paintings in the thirteenth century. It also allows for greater research into the development of iconography in English wall paintings.

This publication is deserving of a viewing, whether it be for more specific research or just to appreciate the artwork.
We encourage you to come into the MRC and request this item.
